ABOUT: IF TRAUMA SPOKE
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
I have been a licensed psychiatric social worker since 1991 and have worked in all levels of psychiatric care at both public and private hospitals. I have developed and implemented programming for psychiatric and substance abuse treatment of adolescents and adults. Currently, in private practice, I own Adolescent, Adult & Family Behavioral Health. My expertise is in the healing of trauma symptoms. My book "If Trauma Spoke" teaches what trauma sounds like, what it looks like and how to recognize the messages our symptoms send us, with a roadmap to healing. I also teach about what trauma is, how it impacts our bodies, and how the energies of our childhoods create our personalities and behaviors. Then, how to listen to our bodies as they know what we need for healing. I am also a Board Member of Main Street Foundations Bradley Barnes & Leila Upson Memorial Trust as their Behavioral Health consultant since 2018.
MORE PERSONALLY:
I am licensed as a clinical social worker in Connecticut and can treat clients who reside in the state either in person or via Telehealth. I am currently exploring my options for coaching, teaching, and supporting therapists who do this work. My book has one chapter left to write and it will be called "Parenting from Spirit" (not inter-generational teachings). Before writing this last chapter i am teaching myself website design (here) and creating my business plan for the future. So please be patient as this site and myself are a work in progress. I live with my husband and 2 German Shepherd babies. We are frequently visited by our 4 amazing children all out of the nest and thriving. Our deepest moments of gratitude and glimmers are us all together sharing this great adventure.
